Welcome to Barton St David Scout Group – where adventure isn’t just for kids!
Are you up for campfires, belly laughs, muddy boots, and the occasional glitter explosion? Good. You might just be exactly who we’re looking for.
At Barton St David Scouts, we help young people learn new skills, build confidence, and have brilliant adventures — and none of it happens without our amazing adult volunteers. Whether it’s teaching a knot-tying trick, helping build a camp gadget, leading a treasure hunt, or simply being the friendly face who cheers them on, our volunteers make the magic happen.
The best part? You don’t need to know how to light a fire with two sticks or survive in the wild (though we can teach you!). If you’re enthusiastic, supportive, and ready to have some fun, there’s a place for you here. We welcome everyone — planners, organisers, bakers, fixers, first-aiders, spreadsheet-lovers, and those who just want to make a difference in their community.

Don’t hesitate. Find out more by emailing gslbarton@yahoo.com or using the child joining form to contact one of us, explaining where you’d like to help.
Volunteering with us means:
- Learning new skills (adults get badges too)
- Making lasting friendships (adults need new friends too)
- Giving young people opportunities they’ll never forget (adults try out new things too)
- Being part of something bigger
You can give as much or as little time as you’re able — from helping at weekly meetings to supporting camps and events, or even behind-the-scenes roles that keep everything running smoothly.
So if you’ve been thinking, “I’d love to do something worthwhile” — this is your sign.
Join Barton St David Scout Group and help us grow the next generation of confident, capable, and kind young people… while having a pretty great time yourself.
Adventure starts here. And we’d love you to be part of it.
