Whether you are a lifetime advocate or new to scouting, you will be equally welcome.

We provide Explorers in partnership with East Somerset Scout District.

Explorer Scouts take on greater challenges, develop strong leadership skills, and enjoy more independence while continuing their adventure in Scouting. We provide an exciting and flexible programme shaped by their interests. Explorers work together to plan activities, organise trips, and take on personal challenges, helping them build confidence, resilience, and practical life skills.

Adventure remains at the heart of the Explorer programme. From expeditions and camps to outdoor activities and community projects, Explorers are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones and develop skills that will benefit them throughout life. Many also work towards top awards such as the Chief Scout’s Platinum and Diamond Awards and the King’s Scout Award, the highest award in UK Scouting. We also run a highly successful Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) programme with regular Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.

Many of our Explorer Scouts have trained to become Young Leaders helping with younger sections, volunteering in their communities, and taking part in larger regional, national, and international events.

We provide opportunities for adventure, responsibility, and preparing young people for the future while continuing to have fun along the way.
